 Red Junglefowl recorded per
party hr on the Lihue Christmas Count, Kaua'i,
    1972- 1991 (see Count
    Page), representing the largest
population remaining in Hawaii of pure or relatively pure,
    original Polynesian junglefowl. The significant
increasing trend during this period likely
reflects, at least in part, feeding by tourists at Koke'e
SP. Graphs of Christmas Count data
developed as part of The Birds of the Hawaiian Islands: Occurrence, History, Distribution, and
Status by Robert L. Pyle and Peter Pyle http://hbs.bishopmuseum.org/birds/rlp-monograph/2009/
