Japanese White-eyes recorded per party hr on the Waipi'o Christmas Count, O'ahu,

1977-2007 (see Count Page), showing fluctuation but no significant trend. Perhaps

this may signify population declines after peaks following introduction, although we

find it difficult to believe that this species will ever become scarce on O'ahu or in
