Scaly-breasted Munias recorded
per party hr on the Kapa'a Christmas Count, Kaua'i, 1971-2014 (see Count
Page), indicating a significant decline
in the area, primarily during the 1970s. Declines are possibly related to
increased competition from other Estrilid finches
that were increasing during this period.
