Ring-necked (Japanese Green) Pheasants recorded per party hr on the Volcano Christmas Count, Hawai'i, 1972-2007 (see Count Page), showing declines in populations during the 1970s-1990s and no records since 1995. This subspecies may be extirpated in its pure form from the Hawai'i I and State of Hawaii.
