Black-necked (Hawaiian) Stilts recorded per party hr on
the Honolulu Christmas Count, 1944-2014 (see Count Page), indicating a decrease
from the 1940s, resulting primarily from the drainage of wetlands,
including Kaelepulu Pond in 1954 (see also Northern Pintail and Northern Shoveler),
