This small, shaded tributary to Waihee Stream provides shallow pools with a bottom layer of leaf litter, a preferred breeding habitat for the endemic Oahu damselfly Megalagrion nigrohamatum nigrolineatum. Lying at only 160 feet above sea level, this is the lowest locality at which this species is known to remain on the island, although it was once common a similar elevations in the streams behind Honolulu. .
