Restoration at Nā Pōhaku o Hauwahine

While on O‘ahu, the Lāna‘i Interns participated in restoration work at an established restoration site - Nā Pōhaku o Hauwahine. Eric Guinther of ‘Ahahu Mālama I Ka Lōkahi introduced the Interns to the site, and gave them a tour of the restoration area and Kawai Nui Marsh. The Interns helped to expand the restoration area by clearing, outplanting and mulching. This was followed by a welcomed rest, lunch, and cold drinks under the big monkeypod tree. So far all the outplants have survived the 2005 summer.
