Learning how to propagate native Hawaiian plants

The Lāna‘i Interns learned how to propagate Hawaiian plants naturally found on Lāna‘i. The Interns prepared soil in the shadehouse, located on the Lāna‘i High and Elementary School grounds. They prepared seed by giving them a heat treatment or nicking the seed, if required. Along with seed, the Interns prepared cuttings, and repotted larger seedlings. In the School's Science Garden, everyone experimented with air-layering.
