Evenhuis, Neal Luit
(1952- ) Neal Evenhuis is a research entomologist at the Bishop Museum where he has been employed since 1976. He is a world authority on the families Bombyliidae and Mythicomyiidae and is currently working on the systematics of the Hawaiian and Pacific Dolichopodidae and Pacific and Oriental Keroplatidae. In addition to taxonomy, he has interests in bibliography, history of dipterology, and nomenclature; with regard to the last he is the past President of the I.C.Z.N (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature). He also is the webmaster for the over 2500 Natural Sciences and Hawaii Biological Survey web pages on the Bishop Museum's web server, and was a frisbee world record holder for 20 years. |
