The 'Akiki, or Kauai Creeper, is only found on Kauai where it is somewhat common in the Alakai Swamp, and rare in Koke'e State Park. It is known to frequent branches and tree trunks in the subcanopy searching for insect and other invertebrate prey. They travel in family groups and small flocks and are often seen with Kauai 'akepa, 'anianiau, and nukupu'u.Illustration from Wilson & Evans (1890-1899)
