The Fiji Terrestrial Arthropod Survey was a three-year survey of selected biodiverse arthropods occurring in the Fiji Islands. The project had 5 primary parts.

  • surveys, which include various trapping methods;
  • training of in-country personnel to assist with sorting and identification of selected arthropods;
  • upgrading an insect facility in Suva to help create and maintain the Fiji National Insect Collection (FNIC) there through staffing, supplies, and voucher specimens;
  • publication results of the project; and
  • publication and online availability of a checklist and bibliography of Fijian Arthropods

Although NSF funding has ended, we continue to update the Fiji checklists and bibliographiy. See progress below.
