Family MUSIDOROMIMIDAE

The family Musidoromimidae was placed in the superfamily Eopolyneuridea by Rohdendorf (1964). However, the venational characters may be suspect. If some of the veins illustrated by Rohdendorf (1962) are in fact artifacts as implied by Hennig (1954) for other of Rohdendorf's figures, then the venation of Musidoromima could be interpreted variously, including that of some homopterans. The genus is provisionally retained in the Diptera in this catalog until such time as the type specimen can be restudied to ascertain its true position.

Ref.: Rohdendorf (1964, review and classification).
