Family PROCRAMPTONOMYIIDAE

The family Procramptonomyiidae was originally proposed based on two species in the genus Procramptonomyia Kovalev from the Jurassic deposits of Siberia. Krzeminski (1992) added the genus Yala from the Upper Triassic deposits of the Dan River Formation of the eastern United States. Kalugina & Kovalev (1985) claimed that the family is closely related to Cramptonomyiidae (treated in this catalog within the family Pachyneuridae).
