There are no native slugs in Hawai`i. All are introduced aliens. The brown slug, up to about 2 inches long, is the most common, and the one most people see around their houses and in their yards. It was introduced to the islands in the early or mid 1970s. It is a serious pest,, as anyone who grows flowers in their years knows very well!
