Family PACHYNEURIDAE

 

 

The Pachyneuridae follow the treatment as a family by Pape et al. (2001). Other workers (e.g., Wood & Borkent, 1989) have included it in the Cramptonomyiidae, which Kalugina & Kovalev argued should be treated as a separate family near the Anisopodidae based on venational characters.

 

In addition to the taxa listed below, Schlee & Glockner (1978) and Poinar (1992: 286) mention undescribed material from the Miocene amber of the Dominican republic.
