Quote
"I have been blessed to work with state biologists studying Hawaii's amazing stream and tidepool fishes for the past seven years and look forward to future projects." |
What she does
In Hawai‘i, my research has focused on the life history, ecology, and genetics of āholehole. I’ve also worked with DAR biologists on stream and estuarine surveys studying fish diversity and habitat.
How she got into science
My Aunt and Uncle bought me a mask and snorkel when I was a kid, and I was hooked on being in the water ever since. So, I went to college in Florida and majored in Marine Biology. My first real research involved studying organisms in the mangroves of Tampa Bay.
Favorite accomplishments
Successfully completing my PhD and getting a job that allows me to work in and travel to beautiful places.
In her free time
I enjoy going to the beach, bird watching, and Tae Kwon Do. |
