Hāna High and Elementary School has an ethnobotanical garden maintained by Kukulu Kumuhana, Pat Villiarimo-Cockett and her students. The Conservation Interns learnt about many of the plants in the garden, and assisted in its maintenance by clearing the many rare and endangered specimens free of weeds. Here they receive their instructions from Dr. Puttock.
