The second week of the program continued the classroom learning portion of the Internship, with hands-on activities, development of scientific thinking, and understanding of conservation practices, both from a scientific and cultural perspective. The interns learned how to use microscopes, and experienced the stringent decontamination protocols involved in working in areas infested by invasive plant species such as MIconia.
