Current conservation activities on Hāna Ranch include the removal of guava (the grey shrubs in the background) in order to return much agricultural land back to pasture, the removal of the invasive weed Miconia, and the restoration of wetland ponds for native water birds. He also described the rotation of cattle around the property for sustainable grazing.
