  • Soaking seeds
The Conservation Interns were each given two native Hawaiian plant species to research. One was to be grown from seed, and the other from cuttings. The interns formulated a hypothesis for the cultivation of each of the species based on available literature. Seeds were soaked in cold- (control) or hot-water (treatment) overnight. Some species underwent scarification treatment. Cuttings were dipped in water (control) or rooting hormone (treatment).
