At the other restoration plot, outplanting took place after clearing non-native plant species. Dr Puttock helps one of the interns pound in one of the stakes marking the location of one of the ‘ōhi‘a (Metrosideros) to be outplanted. Fencing will be placed around the outplanted ‘ōhi‘a to help protect them from grazing cattle and feral pigs.
