3. Records of the Hawaii Biological Survey

Since 1994, the Hawaii Biological Survey has published the annual Records of the Hawaii Biological Survey. The Records are comprised of short papers listing new state or island records of various plants and animals; along with longer papers describing new taxa or reviewing certain portions of the Hawaiian Islands' fauna and/or flora. The Records appear in the summer or spring. Authors with new records are encouraged to submit manuscripts to the Hawaii Biological Survey for consideration of publication in the Records. Deadlines for submission of manuscripts is generally the 15 November previous to the publication date.

The Hawaii Biological Survey supports publication of semi-popular, image-supported, field guides to various Hawaiian plant and animal groups.
