Lanai Conservation Internship, 2003 Bishop Museum: Learning about botanical collections |

Week 3 of the internship involved a visit to Bishop
Museum. The students databased specimens within the Herbarium
Pacificum collections, filed specimens, and researched their
project species. Tours of other Bishop Museum collections and exhibits,
a visit to the Planetarium, and a number of shopping trips completed
the week. Two students and one of the teachers had the opportunity
of extracting DNA in the Pacific Center for Molecular Biodiversity.
